Week 3: Peace

Peace - a state of tranquility or serenity; stillness, silence

Day 1
   Verse - Philippians 4:7
   Reflection - What is peace? How does it feel to be peaceful?
Fruit - Something peaceful

Day 2
   Verse - Philippians 4:7
   Reflection - The peace of God goes beyond our understanding. What is something you don't understand? It's OK not to understand everything. God understands everything, so we can trust that He will take care of us and bring us peace. We can find peace in situations when we're scared or upset and we think peace is not possible.
Fruit - In tiny letters, write something you don't understand, in giant letters write, "God." Remember God is bigger than our problems.
Day 3
   Verse - Philippians 4:7
   Reflection - The peace of God will guard our hearts. What is a guard? What do they do? Picture God's peace as a guard, standing by your heart and protecting it.
Fruit - Name someone you know who is like a guard.

Day 4
   Verse - John 14:27
   Reflection - Peace comes from Jesus. Why do you think he gave you peace? In what way can you feel the peace Jesus gave us?
Fruit - Write one way you feel God's peace.
 
Day 5
   Verse - John 14:27
   Reflection - The peace God gives us is not like the peace the world gives us. The peace of the world is temporary, it doesn't last. God's peace lasts forever. The world cannot give us peace from everything, but God can because God is bigger than the world.
Fruit - Write something humongous. (And remember - God is Bigger!)

Day 6
   Verse - John 14:27
   Reflection - Do not let your heart be troubled or afraid. What makes you afraid? When we have God's peace we don't have to be afraid. God takes our fears away from us.
Fruit - Write something that makes you afraid. Then draw a big 'X' over it to remind you God takes away your fears.
 
Day 7
   Verse - Matthew 5:9
   Reflection - God gave us a spirit of peace. He wants us to share that peace with others. When we play sometimes we play peacefully and sometimes we argue. When we argue with our friends we need to stop and find a way to bring peace back to our playtime. Who do you play with? How can you play peacefully with them?
Fruit - Write down the name of a friend you want to play with peacefully.
