Week 6: Kindness

Verse: Ephesians 4: 29 & 32

Reflections:

Day 1 - What does it mean to be kind? What kind acts have you done today?
Fruit - Write down the name of someone you were kind to.

Day 2 - When is it hard to be kind? Think of a time you were unkind to someone. How could you have acted kind?
Fruit - Write one kind act you can do tomorrow.

Day 3 - Sometimes what we say can hurt other people. What are some things you say that may have hurt someone? Why do you think it hurt that person?
Fruit - Write an unkind word/phrase you said today. Put a big 'X' through it.

Day 4 - We can say good things that help and encourage others. What are some words of encouragement you have said to someone, or someone (maybe a parent or relative) has said to you?
Fruit - Write words of encouragement, say these words to someone tomorrow.

Day 5 - Be kind and compassionate. There are times when the people we love are hurt or sad. We might feel sad for them or want to make them happy again. God wants us to be kind during these times to help our loved ones feel better. Name someone who has been sad recently. How can we make them feel better?
Fruit - Write that person's name down. Say a special prayer for them.

Day 6 - Forgive others. Sometimes it isn't easy to be kind to others, especially when they do things that hurt us. God wants us to forgive those people. Even if they are unkind to us, God still wants us to be kind to them. Tell about a time when you had to forgive someone.
Fruit - Write 'forgiveness.' Remember to forgive those who are unkind to you.

Day 7 - God forgave you. Even though we try hard to follow God's will, sometimes we are unkind to others. Then we need to ask for forgiveness. Who have you been unkind to today? Did you ask that person to forgive you?
Fruit - Write 'Thank You.' We are thankful to God and to the people we love that they forgive us when we are unkind.

Prayer: Jesus, help me to be kind to others in what I say and what I do.
