We'll call Friday 'PE day' lol.
The kids spent the morning swimming with friends.
After lunch and slushies (or shlushies as Klaus calls them) we headed over to Eric's school to check out his room.
After dinner we drove to Baton Rouge to help set-up for the Engaged Encounter retreat. Elijah and Klaus helped set out notebooks and stamp envelopes, then enjoyed a games of hide-and-seek with other EE kids. I think they had enough 'socialization' for the week! ;)
Saturday was Art Day
We went to 'Art in the Park' at City Park. They saw artists welding, making different types of prints and bought paintings for the wall in their toy area. They also made several things at the booths set out for little artists. Their favorite part was running through the fountain at the end, and eating sno-cones!
We ended our 'artsy' day with Movie Night and popcorn!
Sunday - busy!
Church, time-out, coming up with a behavior chart for Mass, then visits with Maw & Paw (and family) and Granny. Phew!
Came home to eat gumbo (thanks to a friend of Daddy's who sent us frozen gumbo when Jeremiah was born).
Then off to help out with the EE weekend again for the wrap-up. (they enjoyed the snacks!)
They learned how to play the quiet game ;)
We stopped by the mall for Daddy to use his coupon and a quick play on the playground. Meagan commented, "Elijah finds friends everywhere he goes." Because he was enjoying a game of chasing each other with a brother and sister he met there.
Monday - Field Trip!
After visiting Melissa and finding frogs in her garden, we went to LSU to see Mike the Tiger and show Meagan a little bit of the campus. We had a photo shoot with the bronze statue of Mike and Elijah got an early birthay present from Nana - an LSU jersey. (Fun fact: we bought him a purple jersey at the same store almost 4 years ago when he was 1. It was half the size then, they remodeled!)
And Nana treated us to gelatos at a cute gelato place on Highland owned by a guyh from Rome - delicious! (Flavor highlights: pistachio, double dutch chocolate espresso, sweet potato)
Then some much needed downtime at home where they watched 'The Magic School Bus' and learned about rainbows.
